Thalassa in Siolim, Goa | REVIEW
An overrated place as per my experience and the food was not that great too
After a lot of suggestions, me and my family decided to visit Thalassa for lunch. This restro is situated in Siolim and it was an hour (approx) road trip to this place from Candolim. The ambience of Thalassa is amazing! It really gave the beach cafe vibes. We reached this restro around 1 PM and luckily we found it less crowded. From what I've heard, Thalassa is always fully packed and people have to wait for a long time to get a seat. We were lucky I guess!
So, here's what we ordered:
Melitzanosalata
A classic Greek appetizer made of broiled or fried eggplant, olive oil, vinegar, and garlic, served with bread. It was good in taste.
Veg Casserole
This was just like fried rice served along with mixed vegetable gravy. The taste was good and light. The quantity was ok-ish though. According to the menu, it should have been served along with mashed potatoes and salad, which was missing in our dish..... disappointed.
Lamb Mousaka
A minced lamb meat lasagna, served along with fries and a salad. I love lasagna but it was the first time I did not like it at all. The taste was very dense and the one served here had more eggplants & boiled potatoes than minced meat in it. My whole palate was ruined. I enjoyed the fries and salad instead.
Grasshoper
I asked the server about this drink and he explained that it was a minty mocktail. When this was served, it totally looked like some kind of milkshake and even tasted like it too! The taste was weird, to be honest. I had one sip and it was like I was having some kind of milkshake in which a mint flavouring was added. Definitely not recommended.
