Runway Street Food & Coral Island in Pattaya
Visiting Pattaya in 2024!
This May, I & my family planned a trip to Thailand, mainly to Pattaya & Bangkok. As it was my first visit to this country, we did add some touristy spots to our itinerary, coz why not 😅
DAY 1
We came to Pattaya directly from Bangkok Airpot in a cab. It was around 2-2.30 hr journey & we checked in at our hotel by around 9 PM.
Night walk (& dinner) at Runway Street Food
I had this place on my list, mainly due to the fact it was very close to our hotel in Pattaya. This street food area is along the main road and can’t be missed as there is an aeroplane in the middle of the market! It can be easily spotted from afar.
DAY 2
Visit to Coral Island
After we had our breakfast, our cab picked us up from our hotel at 9.30 AM to drop us at Bali Heir Pier. Here we waited to get into the speed boat to take us to Coral Island.
We then arrived at Tawaen Beach on the island and had about 1-1.5 hours to explore or enjoy some water sports. I decided to skip the water sports because the place was packed with people, especially with a LOT of Indians. Honestly, it felt like I was just visiting a typical beach in Mumbai 😂
So, we just relaxed for a bit under the umbrellas where there was seating along the beach.
Quick Coffee Stop at Cafe Amazon
I found a Cafe Amazon nearby and decided to grab some iced coffee. There was a small seating area outside, but the indoor seating was packed when we arrived. Since it was hot outside, everyone was enjoying their coffee inside in AC.
I ordered two iced coffees with milk and one without. They asked how much sugar syrup and milk I wanted in the iced coffees, which I thought was a nice touch—I haven’t seen that anywhere else! The iced coffees were delicious. The coffee tasted a bit different from what I'm used to in India, but it went really well with ice. Plus, it was quite affordable—we got three iced coffees for about 200 Baht! 😄
After 30mins or so, we got on to our speedboat (which had dropped us at the beach) and went back to Pattaya.
